Conditional Logic for Courses in Bundles

Let Members unlock Courses by meeting conditions and show them what they still need to do to unlock them.

Written by Christoph Gimpl

In Bundles, you can automatically unlock Courses as soon as a Member meets certain conditions.

For example, you can specify that a Course only becomes available after another Course has been completed.

Available Conditions

Various conditions are available for Courses.

General

  • Date – Restrict access to a specific date or date range.

  • Member Since – Only unlock the Course after a Member has been active on the platform for a specific period, for example, at least 30 days.

  • Member Properties – Only unlock the Course if a specific Member Property is set.

Access

  • In Course – The Member has access to a specific Course.

  • In Group – The Member is part of a specific group.

  • In Bundle – The Member is part of another Bundle.

Course

  • Lesson – The Member has completed a specific Lesson.

  • Course Progress – The Member has reached a specific level of progress in a selected Course.

  • Exam – The Member has completed or passed a specific exam.

You can combine multiple conditions.

For example, you can specify that a Member must have access to Course X and the date must be after December 12, 2026.

Access Options

You can also specify how the Course is displayed to a Member while not all selected conditions have been met.

Visibility Options

Locked – The Course is displayed to the Member but is locked. Access is only possible once all conditions have been met.

Locked With Notice – The Course is also displayed as locked. In addition, the Member receives information about which requirements still need to be met to unlock the Course.

This option is only available if no group or Bundle conditions are used.

Hidden – The Course is not displayed to the Member. The Course only appears in the overview once all conditions have been met.

Circular References

A circular reference can occur when the conditions of two or more Courses refer to each other.

For example, Course A may only be unlocked if Course B has been completed, while Course B simultaneously requires Course A to be completed.

As a result, neither Course may be unlocked as intended.

LearningSuite detects such circular references and displays a warning. This allows you to easily identify problematic conditions and adjust them accordingly.

We recommend avoiding circular references whenever possible.
