Create a Survey
You can add surveys directly when creating a feed post. To do this, click the red “Survey” button either in the feed or in the post creation window.
Every survey must be published with post text so your members have sufficient context to vote.
Answer Options
You can add up to 10 answer options to a survey. Each answer can be a maximum of 60 characters long.
You can create additional answer options using the Enter key or by clicking “Add Answer”.
To remove an answer option, press Backspace or click the trash icon.
Settings
You can customize how your survey works. The following options are available:
Allow Multiple Selections
Members can select multiple answer options at the same time.
Selection Cannot Be Changed
After a member has voted, their selection can no longer be changed or withdrawn.
This setting is only available when “Allow Multiple Selections” is disabled.
Votes Visible to Everyone
Members can see who voted for each answer option.
Set a Time Limit for the Survey
Set how long members can participate in the survey. After the deadline expires, no more votes can be cast or withdrawn.
Add Images to Answer Options
You can add an image to each answer option to provide additional context.
To do this, click the image icon. The file selector will then open. After uploading, you can crop the image. All images in surveys are displayed as squares.
Once an image has been added, you must also enter text for this answer option.
To remove an image, click the image again and delete it in the “Crop Image” dialog using the corresponding option in the bottom left.
Members can enlarge images and view them at full size after the survey has been published.
After Publishing
Once your survey has been published, your members can vote.
You can view the percentage distribution of votes at any time. When you click a percentage, you can also see which members voted for the corresponding answer option. This information is visible to all Community moderators.
Whether other members can also see this information depends on the “Votes Visible to Everyone” setting.
If the survey has a time limit, the remaining voting time is also displayed.
Edit Surveys
You can also edit a published survey afterward.
The following restrictions apply:
Answer options that have already received votes can no longer be changed.
Answer options without votes can still be edited.
The survey settings can be adjusted at any time.
Surveys in Moderated Forums
In moderated forums, surveys—like all other posts—must first be approved by a moderator.
Members can only participate in the survey after approval.
Moderators can still edit the survey’s answer options and settings before approval.
If a member edits a survey that has already been submitted, it must be approved again.
Moderators also cannot change answer options once votes have already been cast for them.
