Explanation: AI Triggers

Execute actions when certain events occur during interactions with AI Agents or the AI Concierge.

Written by Christoph Gimpl

AI Triggers enable AI Agents to automatically perform a defined action in certain situations. You can use these AI Triggers directly in prompts and then process them further in LearningSuite, via Zapier, Make, or with your own code.

For example, with AI Triggers you can:

  • analyze information from chats

  • trigger Automations

  • send data to external tools

  • document specific events

How do I create AI Triggers?

You can create AI Triggers in the settings under the “AI Triggers” card. There, you will find preconfigured AI Triggers that you can use directly in your prompts.

When creating Actions, you can define general information such as the title, description, and icon.

The most important field is the “Message Instruction”. Here, you define how the Action should formulate its message. This message is later displayed in LearningSuite or used in Automations such as Zapier or Make.

Below that, you will also find shortcuts to create a new Zapier or Make workflow directly. In addition, all important information is displayed there if you want to use the Action with your own code.

On the right-hand side, you can test how the Action is used in an Agent. To do this, write a prompt in which you define when the Action should be performed.

In the chat below, you can then send a message as a test User. If the Action is triggered correctly, you will see this directly in the Agent’s response.

You can later transfer the test instruction directly to your actual Agents.

If the Action is not triggered, you should formulate the test instruction more precisely so that the Agent better understands when the Action should be used.

After saving, the Action can be used in both AI Agents and the AI Concierge.

How do I use AI Triggers?

AI Triggers work in both AI Agents and the AI Concierge.

AI Agents

To use AI Triggers in Agents, you can use the prompt tab of your AI Agent to add them to the Personality prompt for Coaching Bots, or to task prompts for your own Member Properties in Form Bots.

Coaching Bot

For Coaching Bots, add the Action to the Personality prompt.

The easiest way is to add an additional instruction at the end of your existing prompt that should call the Action.

To do this, you can either:

  • use the lightning button at the bottom right of the text field

  • or use the @ symbol while typing

It is recommended to test the Action directly in the preview on the right.

Form Assistant

You can also use AI Triggers in the Form Assistant.

Here, it is best to add the AI Trigger call at the end of the task prompt for the respective Member Property.

Then test again whether the Action is triggered correctly.

AI Concierge

With the AI Concierge, you can add AI Triggers in the “Additional Prompts” tab.

There, simply add the AI Trigger call within your additional prompts.

It works identically to other Agents.

How can I analyze AI Triggers?

If you specifically want to analyze only the executed AI Triggers, you can use the “Executions” tab in the Task Center.

There, you will find all invoked AI Triggers and can track how they were created in the respective chats.

You can also open the chats of the respective AI Agent or AI Concierge. There, you can also see when an Action was performed.
