The challenge: One data profile, multiple use cases
When building the structure of your properties, you may encounter cases where certain data profiles need to be completed multiple times by your Members.
Coaching / consulting use case: Multiple companies per Member
For a coaching Member who has multiple companies, you may want to store information for each company and display the relevant content or recommendations.
Agency use case: Multiple projects per Customer
For your agency Customers, you may want to map multiple projects in order to display the right data for each project.
Solution: Profiles
To map such cases, you can activate Multi-Profile Mode for your data profiles.
When Multi-Profile Mode is activated for a data profile, your Members can create multiple profiles for this data profile. Each profile can then be completed separately.
The profiles then contain all fields and properties available in the selected data profile.
For the cases mentioned above, this would look like this:
Coaching use case
Data profile: Company
Profiles: Muster AG, Example GmbH
Each profile contains the fields you defined for the “Company” card. These fields are completed separately for each company.
Agency use case
Data profile: Project
Profiles: Website Redesign, Example Rebranding
Here too, each profile contains the defined fields of the “Project” data profile and is completed individually for each project.
Important note before activation:
For every data profile where you activate Multi-Profile Mode, your Members must create new profiles. This can worsen the user experience.
If you currently have related properties split across multiple data profiles and want to make them fillable multiple times, you should first combine them into one data profile.
Therefore, only activate profiles when it is truly necessary. In most cases, you should use only one data profile with Multi-Profile Mode activated per use case.
Create profiles
Before profiles can be completed, they must be created. This can be done either by you or by the Member.
Create manually
You can create profiles manually by opening the Member Pop-up, navigating to the desired data profile and adding a new profile there.
Have Members create profiles
You can ask Members to create profiles themselves. To do this, use the “Profile Creation” element in Lessons or Pop-ups.
Select the data profile for which profiles should be created. Only data profiles with profiles activated are available.
Also provide a clear title and description so that your Members know what they should create.
In the design settings, you can determine how the element is displayed and which Actions are possible.
This allows Members, for example, to enter their own companies or projects.
It is most effective to use Profile Creation right at the beginning of a Course or in an initial Pop-up.
Switch profiles
To allow Members to switch between their profiles, you can add the Profile Selection as an element or widget.
However, this selection only makes sense if you use properties in the same Lesson or Hub that are part of a card where profiles are activated. Otherwise, the selection would have no effect.
This is especially useful for:
Forms in which you use properties from cards with activated profiles
AI Agents that use properties from cards with activated profiles
Lesson
You can also find the “Profile Selection” element in the editor under “Forms & AI Agents”.
Here too, select the relevant data profile and add a title and description.
This is what the element looks like for the Member
Hubs
In Hubs, you can add Profile Selection as a widget
The configuration works similarly to the editor.
This is what the widget looks like for Members:
View and manage profiles as an admin
You can manage Member profiles in two places:
Member Pop-up → “Properties” tab
Property overview
Member Pop-up
In the “Properties” tab of the Member Pop-up, you will find an overview of all completed fields and all profiles of a Member.
Here, you can view profiles, create new profiles or delete existing ones.
Property overview
In the Property overview, you can view the profiles of all Members.
You can add profiles as columns and compare them directly.
Clicking a profile opens the Member Pop-up directly in the right place, allowing you to edit the profile.
Further management works the same way as in the Member Pop-up.
