To build a meaningful structure, we recommend following these 5 steps:
Step 1: List properties
Before you start building your structure in LearningSuite, you should consider which properties you need and which use cases you want to map with them.
Then list all the properties you can think of for these use cases.
Step 2: Group properties
Once you have collected your properties, you can divide them into meaningful groups.
If a group contains too many properties, we recommend creating additional subgroups. This helps you keep track of everything.
These groups and subgroups will later become data profiles and categories in LearningSuite.
Quick tip: You can also use an AI tool for structuring to reach a good result faster.
Step 3: Create cards & categories
You can now start implementing your defined groups in LearningSuite.
To do this, go to Properties → Property Configuration.
Create a separate data profile for each group.
Then create the subgroups as categories within this data profile.
Step 4: Create properties
Now go through each group and create your properties in the appropriate data profiles and categories.
Keep the following in mind:
Use clear and understandable names
Assign meaningful IDs if you work with Automations
Choose the appropriate data type for each property
This ensures that your data is easy to use later on.
Step 5: Test the structure
Once your structure is in place, you should test it right away.
Use it, for example, when building Lessons or Hubs. This will quickly show you whether:
names still need to be adjusted
categories have been selected optimally
Important:
You can change the order of your properties, categories, and data profiles at any time if you notice that the structure is not yet optimal.
